Susan G. Swenson is president and chief executive officer of the North American regional division of Sage Software,[1] and a director of Wells Fargo & Company.[2]
Swenson received her BA degree from San Diego State University. In her career with the telecommunications industry she was named vice president and general manager of Pacific Bell's Northern California Region in 1993. She left to accept the position of president and chief executive officer of Cellular One in 1994, serving until 1999. From 1999 to 2004 she was president and CEO of Leap Wireless.
In 2004-05 Swenson was CEO of T-Mobile USA. She served as chief operating officer of Amp'd Mobile, Inc., and of Atrinsic, Inc. (formerly known as New Motion, Inc.), before joining Sage Software, the North American division of The Sage Group, PLC, United Kingdom, as president and CEO. On December 1, 2010 she announced her retirement from Sage effective in mid 2011.
She has been a director of Wells Fargo since 1994 and also serves on the board of mBox, Inc. In addition, she was formerly chairman of General Magic and a director of Palm (PDA).
In the political realm, she was a member of Gore 2000.
